Regency IT Consulting is recertified to Cyber Essentials Plus with IT Governance

09/11/2015

IT Governance, the leading cyber security services provider and CREST-accredited certification body for the UK Government’s Cyber Essentials scheme, has recertified Regency IT Consulting to Cyber Essentials Plus.

The Cyber Essentials scheme represents a set of controls and implementation guidance for basic cyber hygiene against which organisations can achieve certification.

Cyber Essentials Plus provides the highest level of assurance, and is based on a series of independent assessments of the organisation’s internal and external networks and applications.

Alan Calder, the founder and executive chairman of IT Governance, says, “As the Cyber Essentials scheme continues to gain momentum in the United Kingdom, more companies are realising the benefits of obtaining certification to the scheme. I am pleased that Regency IT Consultancy has become our eighty-first successfully certified client, and I congratulate them on their continued commitment to cyber security.”

The Cyber Essentials scheme was introduced by the UK Government in 2014 as a solution to help UK businesses improve their cyber security posture.

In order to achieve the basic level of Cyber Essentials certification, companies are required to complete a self-assessment questionnaire. Companies that choose to apply for certification with a CREST-approved certification body like IT Governance also need to pass an external vulnerability scan to identify potential vulnerabilities within Internet-facing infrastructure that could be exploited by attackers.

The IT Governance Cyber Essentials Plus Certification service is conveniently available through the CyberComply portal, which allows organisations to go through the entire certification process online.

Alternatively, organisations can call +44 (0)845 070 1750 or send an email to request more information.
