IT Governance, the world’s leading information security and ISO 27001 consultancy, has launched the second
ISO 27001 Global Survey.
The survey will establish how ISO 27001 is perceived by the managers who actually implement it, what implementers’ key challenges are, and what the main drivers are behind the Standard’s growth.
Last year, over 300 respondents participated in the survey, providing revealing statistics about ISO 27001 implementations around the world. Respondents represented organisations of all sizes, with revenues ranging from less than US$5 million to more than US$500 million.
The findings included the following:

96% of respondents agreed that ISO 27001 plays an important role in improving their company’s cyber security;

Finding the appropriate expertise and generating staff awareness were the two biggest challenges when implementing ISO 27001;

Two thirds of organisations had clients ask about their ISO 27001 status in the preceding 12 months;

Only 24% employed a dedicated, full-time ISMS manager.
