More than 85% of businesses now take advantage of Cloud computing, but it does not sit easily with the UK’s Data Protection Act (DPA). Failure to comply with the DPA could lead to claims for compensation from affected individuals and financial penalties of up to £500,000 from the Information Commissioner’s Office, in addition to reputation damage and loss of customers.
