KING 3 MAPPED TO ITG FRAMEWORK TOOLKIT

14/04/2011

Ely, England, 14 April 2011 - IT Governance Ltd, the global leader in IT Governance information, standards, books, tools and training, has announced that its ITG Framework Toolkit has now been mapped to the IT Governance requirements of KING 3, the current Code of Corporate Governance for companies listed on South African stock exchanges.

King III – the third report on Corporate Governance in South Africa - was compiled by the King Committee in response to the emergence of the South African Companies Act 71 of 2008, and in order to stay at the forefront of governance internationally.

King III was the first corporate governance framework in the world to explicitly identify the need for boards of directors to address IT governance and to effectively manage the range of risks that created by the complexity and vulnerability of IT systems and services. There are seven IT governance principles supported by clear and more detailed guidance as to the steps that companies should take in order to govern their IT effectively.

The IT Governance Framework Toolkit (www.itgovernance.co.uk/products/519), which is based on both the International IT Governance Standard

ISO/IEC 38500 (www.itgovernance.co.uk/products/1812) and the innovative Calder-Moir Framework (www.itgovernance.co.uk/calder_moir.aspx), is a comprehensive set of checklists, templates and tools that are designed to help an organization assess its IT governance and determine the ways in which it can be improved.

The detailed mapping of the ITG Framework Toolkit and Calder-Moir framework to the King III requirements can be freely downloaded from www.itgovernance.co.uk/download/King-3-mapped-to-Calder-Moir.pdf.

Copies of the ITG Framework Toolkit can be purchased through the website or directly with the friendly, helpful IT Governance service centre team on telephone number +44 (0)845 070 1750. Larger organisations can make purchases with a Purchase Order either by telephone or by email to servicecentre@itgovernance.co.uk.
