IT Governance’s founder and chief executive officer, Alan Calder, to participate in the Q4-2016 ‘Security Matters’ Forum in London

09/11/2016

IT Governance, the leading provider of information security expertise and solutions, is delighted to announce that Alan Calder, its founder and chief executive officer, will be part of the presentation team at the Q4-2016 ‘Security Matters’ Forum.

This seminar, which asks the question: “Is your business and technology ready for GDPR?”, is a must-attend briefing for CIOs, CTOs, and IT security, risk and compliance professionals who wish to expand their understanding of the General Data Protection Regulation (GPPR).

Alan Calder said: “With less than 18 months left for companies to achieve compliance with the GDPR, it’s essential for organisations and professionals involved in compliance projects to be informed about the potential financial and reputational damage data breaches can have on their organisations.”

The GDPR will come into effect in May 2018, creating new obligations and requirements for worldwide organisations collecting and processing the data of European residents. The Regulation imposes fines of up to 4% of global annual turnover or €20 million – whichever is higher.

This 90-minute seminar is designed to provide answers to key GDPR compliance questions and will discuss technology-based opportunities and solutions. The session will also focus on the internationally recognised best practices and frameworks that support GDPR compliance, the impact the Regulation can have on an organisation’s IT systems and how organisations can use GDPR compliance to drive business growth.

Alan Calder will be speaking alongside Jerry Adley, Forum Chairman; Paul Tempest-Mitchell, Technical Architect at Dell EMC; Dominic Trott, Research Manager at International Data Corporation (IDC), and David Knock, Technical Architect at Reciprocal Group.

The event takes place at the Lloyd’s Building in London on Thursday 15 December 2016 from 8:30 to 10:10 am. The Q4-2016 ‘Security Matters’ Forum is now fully subscribed.
