IT Governance offers 15% discount on the Certified EU GDPR Foundation training course in Cambridge

30/09/2016

IT Governance, the leading provider of certified cyber security and data protection training courses, is delighted to offer a 15% discount on the Certified EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Foundation training course, which will take place in Cambridge on 5 October.

The course provides an overview of the requirements of the GDPR and what they mean for businesses, data protection officers (DPOs), law firms and worldwide organisations collecting and handling the data of EU residents.

Alan Calder, the founder and chief executive officer of IT Governance, said: “The GDPR requires substantial work to assess risk and implement new controls before it enters into law. The training course introduces organisations to terminology, data subjects’ rights, access requirements and the implementation path to EU GDPR compliance through privacy by design, data protection impact assessments and data audits.”

The Certified EU GDPR Foundation training course covers data subjects and their rights, the path to implementation, updating policies and procedures, data audits, privacy impact assessments (PIA), data flow mapping, incident response, and breach reporting to help individuals involved in compliance projects understand what needs to be done to meet the Regulation’s requirements.

“Organisations should take action now to prepare for the GDPR’s enforcement from 25 May 2018. By achieving compliance, organisations can avoid fines of up to 4% of annual turnover or €20 million, whichever is higher. Organisations have under two years to conduct data flow audits, produce policies and procedures, appoint a data protection officer and meet the Regulation requirements,” said Alan Calder.

The one-day course takes place on 5 October 2016 at St John’s Innovation Centre in Cambridge. To take advantage of the 15% discount when you book your place, please click here.

IT Governance supports professional development. Upon course completion, delegates will sit a 60-minute multiple-choice exam accredited by the International Board for IT Governance Qualifications (IBITGQ).

Successfully passing the ISO 27024-accredited exam results in certification and 7 CPD/CPE credits, and proves that the delegate has achieved an in-depth understanding of the EU GDPR and its compliance requirements.
