IT Governance launches new service to help government suppliers comply with G-Cloud requirements

12/04/2016

IT Governance is pleased to announce the launch of a new consultancy service designed to help Cloud suppliers comply with the stringent G-Cloud requirements of the UK Government.

G-Cloud was introduced in 2012 to create a quicker and more transparent acquisition process for government bodies, but the G-Cloud application process is rigorous and difficult to follow.

A major barrier for suppliers has been the lack of adequate and clear guidance on meeting the G-Cloud requirements.

To help suppliers easily comply with the G-Cloud framework, IT Governance’s new service reduces the hassle of trying to make sense of the requirements.

Headed by senior consultant Paul Romano, IT Governance’s Cloud Supplier Assurance service provides expert consultancy support, backed by years of industry knowledge and information security expertise, enabling Cloud service providers to pass the application process and be listed on the G-Cloud Digital Marketplace.

The Cloud Supplier Assurance service provides expertise in the form of information assurance audits, ISO 27001 certification preparedness and other essential cyber security consultancy services, supported by an experienced team of experts.

Alan Calder, the founder and executive chairman of IT Governance, says “IT Governance has the security expertise and industry knowledge to help Cloud service providers cost-effectively meet the complex requirements of building a portfolio of evidence”.

“We have a strong track record of assisting companies achieve compliance with the international information security standard, ISO 27001, and have been working with organisations in both the private and public sectors for over ten years. This combination of expertise provides our clients with the best possible support to meet the requirements of the G-Cloud framework.”

A common approach to providing the necessary assurance is using independent testers to demonstrate that controls are correctly implemented and objectives are met. As a CREST-accredited penetration testing provider, IT Governance has the appropriate industry-recognised qualifications to carry out the necessary testing.

IT Governance supports Cloud services providers from the initial application process right through until the provider has been accepted onto the Digital Marketplace.
