IT Governance launches Certified EU General Data Protection Regulation training courses in Cambridge, UK

02/06/2016

IT Governance, the leading expert in cyber security, is excited to launch a series of Certified EU General Data Protection Regulation Foundation and Practitioner training courses in Cambridge. These courses have been designed to help organisations achieve compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which is set to come into force in May 2018.

IT Governance’s Certified GDPR training courses offer a comprehensive introduction to the GDPR, and are designed to enable delegates to fulfil the role of data protection officer (DPO) within an organisation.

Candidates with little prior knowledge of the GDPR are advised to undertake the Certified EU General Data Protection Foundation training course to build a basic understanding of the new Regulation. This one-day course is part of an ongoing series starting on 5 July, and will run every month in Cambridge. The course provides an overview of the Regulation’s requirements, enabling delegates to understand what needs to be done to meet compliance objectives when the Regulation comes into force.

Individuals who want to fulfil the role of DPO and get in-depth knowledge of the GDPR and the technical aspects of data protection can attend the four-day Certified EU GDPR Practitioner training course starting on 6 July in Cambridge.

Delegates can save 15% on the total price by booking a place on the combined GDPR course.

“The GDPR requires substantial work to assess the risk and implement new controls before it enters into law. The training course introduces organisations to terminology, data subjects’ rights, access requirements, and the implementation path to EU GDPR compliance through privacy-by-design, data protection impact assessments and data audits,” says Alan Calder, the founder and chief executive of IT Governance.

Upon completing the combined Certified EU GDPR Foundation and Practitioner training courses, delegates will sit a 60-minute multiple-choice exam accredited by the International Board for IT Governance Qualifications (IBITGQ). Passing the examination proves that the participant has obtained a solid understanding of the EU GDPR.
