IT Governance certifies SproutIT to Cyber Essentials

25/03/2015

IT Governance, the leading cyber security services provider and CREST-accredited certification body for the UK Government’s Cyber Essentials scheme, is pleased to award legal IT specialists SproutIT their Cyber Essentials certificate.

Alan Calder, founder and executive chairman of IT Governance, says, “I am delighted to congratulate SproutIT on achieving certification to Cyber Essentials. This is an important recognition of their commitment to protect their information and their clients’ data from Internet-borne threats.”

Brendan Martindale, IT Operations Manager at SproutIT says, “Sprout are proud to obtain our Cyber Essentials accreditation through IT Governance. With Cyber Essentials and our ISO 27001:2013 accreditation we have shown our dedication and commitment to protecting our own data as well as our clients.”

The Cyber Essentials scheme represents a set of controls and implementation guidance for basic cyber hygiene against which organisations can achieve different levels of certification.

In order to achieve Cyber Essentials certification, companies need to complete a self-assessment questionnaire, signed off by a senior company representative, which is then verified by an external certification body. An external vulnerability scan will also be required if the company has chosen to be certified through a CREST-approved certification body like IT Governance.

IT Governance’s Cyber Essentials certification service is designed for organisations that do not require external help completing the self-assessment questionnaire, and is available as a convenient online service helping organisations to save time and money.

The IT Governance Cyber Essentials certification service can be booked online at www.itgovernance.co.uk/shop/p-1622.aspx.
