IT Governance certifies software and technology company DeltaRail to Cyber Essentials

27/01/2015

IT Governance, the leading cyber security services provider and CREST-accredited certification body for the UK Government’s Cyber Essentials scheme, is pleased to award software and technology company DeltaRail its Cyber Essentials certificate.

Alan Calder, founder and executive chairman of IT Governance, says, “I am pleased to congratulate DeltaRail on achieving Cyber Essentials certification. This demonstrates that the company has taken fundamental steps to protect its data.”

Sheena Hendrie, corporate service director at DeltaRail, says, “I am delighted that DeltaRail has been awarded the Cyber Essentials accreditation. As specialists in real-time control systems this award demonstrates our commitment to our clients and their needs.’’

The Cyber Essentials scheme was officially launched on 5 June 2014. It is emerging as the default minimum standard for cyber security and, from 1 October 2014, the UK Government requires organisations to prove compliance with the scheme in order to bid for government contracts that involve the handling of sensitive and personal information, and the provision of certain technical products and services.

In order to achieve Cyber Essentials certification, companies need to complete a self-assessment questionnaire, which must be signed off by a senior company representative and then verified by an external certification body. An external vulnerability scan will also be required if the company has chosen to be certified through a CREST-approved certification body like IT Governance.

IT Governance’s Cyber Essentials Certification service is designed for organisations that do not require external help completing the self-assessment questionnaire and is available as a convenient online service helping organisations to save time and money.

The IT Governance Cyber Essentials Certification service can be booked online at www.itgovernance.co.uk/shop/p-1622.aspx.
