IT Governance Ltd announces that 95% of the companies it certified to the
Cyber Essentials scheme have been protected from all data breaches since certification. The result demonstrates that improved cyber security can be achieved by implementing the Cyber Essentials scheme’s five security controls.
IT Governance, the accredited Cyber Essentials certification body, has certified 244 organisations, ranging from SMEs to large international organisations, since the launch of the Cyber Essentials scheme in 2014.

The
Cyber Essentials scheme is a UK Government-backed scheme that sets out a baseline for cyber security using five security controls: secure configuration, boundary firewalls and Internet gateways, access control and administrative privilege management, patch management, and malware protection.

‘Get A Little Help’ and
‘Get A Lot Of Help’ packages are designed to help organisations achieve certification to the scheme by providing different levels of support depending on the organisation’s size, cyber security skills, resources and desired timeframe.
Additionally, organisations opting for certification with IT Governance can choose conduct the entire application process online through the
CyberComply portal. The portal is designed to enable organisations to define the scope, complete the self-assessment questionnaire (SAQ) and book the requisite vulnerability scans.
