AlphaPlus Consultancy achieves Cyber Essentials certification with IT Governance’s ‘Get A Little Help’ package

03/10/2016

IT Governance, the cyber security expert and CREST-accredited certification body, is pleased to congratulate the leaders in assessment, research and evaluation in training, AlphaPlus Consultancy Ltd, on their successful Cyber Essentials certification.

Alan Calder, founder and chief executive officer of IT Governance, said: “We congratulate AlphaPlus Consultancy on achieving certification to the government-endorsed cyber security scheme, Cyber Essentials. Implementing Cyber Essentials provides our client with a solid foundation of cyber security, and the certification proves to their clients, partners and stakeholders that they are committed to protecting their information assets.”

Cyber Essentials is a government-backed cyber security certification scheme  designed to provide organisations with a baseline of cyber security and prevent “around 80% of cyber attacks”. The scheme is applicable to any organisations that use Internet-connected systems and internet-connected devices, such as computers, laptops, servers, mobile phones, printers and tablets.

Zak Horrocks, project support officer at AlphaPlus Consultancy, said: “AlphaPlus Consultancy is an education consultancy that specialises in the design, development and deployment of qualifications and their underpinning assessment, and in the evaluation of their performance and impact. A large proportion of our work involves secure and confidential data. With this in mind, data security is of critical importance to AlphaPlus Consultancy. Successfully completing the Cyber Essentials certification process assures our clients that we can be trusted to carefully manage their data.”

The Manchester-based company achieved certification to the Cyber Essentials scheme with IT Governance’s ‘Get A Little Help’ package. This solution is designed to help organisations that are confident they have the skills to achieve certification but need a basic level of guidance.

“We opted for the Cyber Essentials ‘Get A Little Help’ package to enable us to quickly clarify and rectify any concerns raised. The process was straightforward and culminated in us having enough support time left over to have our IT policy reviewed”, continued Zak Horrocks.
