Ignoring the cyber threat - especially if you think that someone else is dealing with it - could be the worst decision that you ever make. The fact is, cybercrime is on the rise. Just because you don't know whether your system is healthy and resilient thanks to robust cyber defences does not stop the hackers and rogue employees from costing your business serious amounts of money - and possibly inflicting huge damage to your reputation that could affect your ability to continue trading (don't laugh: it happens!).

Every minute of every day, determined efforts are being made by hackers seeking to gain access to your confidential data. The UK's 2010 National Security Strategy identified Cyberattacks as one of the four highest-priority risks faced by the UK. HM Government claims cybercrime costs the UK economy £27 billion a year. That’s the equivalent of building one of Boris Johnson’s Thames Estuary airports every twelve months.

PwC's Information Security Breaches Survey 2012 found that 93% of large corporations and 76% of small businesses had a cyber security breach in 2012. The cost is estimated between £110,000-250,000 for large businesses and £15,000-30,000 for smaller ones.  ‘Social Engineering’ is increasingly the weakest link.

The news headlines speak for themselves.

What Action can you take?

We all know that there's a growing problem, but what is the solution? - And more importantly, whose opinion can you trust?

Wouldn't't it be better to base your cyber security policy and action plans on a thorough and expertly conducted risk assessment?

Agreed? Then join Alan Calder's free webinar and you can learn first hand from one of the world's leading experts in the field.
