CIPFA IT Audit and Information Security Update

29/05/2014

18 June, Birmingham

CIPFA’s annual seminar focuses on the latest IT audit and security issues together with supporting the planning and delivery of an effective IT audit service.

Specialist speakers in IT audit and information security will provide expert briefings on current risk areas, including big data, cyber security and software compliance.

Tony Drewitt, Head of Consultancy at IT Governance, will deliver a presentation exploring cyber security in the public sector. The public sector holds a wide variety of data supporting the provision of local services – unauthorised access to that data or disruption caused by targeted hacking attacks are real risks.

Tony’s session will assess the risks and key security requirements public bodies should have in place. In particular, it examines the cyber resilience programme and the variety of key roles that a fit-for-purpose programme should include, together with the requirements for a risk-based approach able to meet the growing expectation that public sector organisations are information custodians.
